True love is a strong and lasting affection between spouses or lovers who are in a happy, passionate, and fulfilling relationship. But first and foremost, true love doesn’t come to you; it has to be inside of you first because once you start loving someone before loving yourself first, it can be so hard for you to understand the true meaning of it.
We live in a world of different versions of love, whereby people are getting engaged in relationships for various reasons. There are many cases of suicide, cheating, heartbreaks, divorces, and pain; you can name them reader, that has happened and is still happening nowadays because of LOVE.
Love is patient, and Love is kind, but don’t let people take advantage of your heart and never be desperate for it because it will crash you one day. Love gives hope when life is low. Getting through some difficult moments in my life, I thought being in a relationship would get me out of pain. I never thought that being myself and loving myself would get me out of pain, but saying, “yes, I love you too,” to someone was the best way to ease the pain.
As I have said earlier, people get into relationships for some reason. The most painful part is that some people are evil; they might pretend; therefore, it takes a sense of urgency to discover their true colors before it’s too late. Know the difference between being loved, liked, and being used in a relationship. Never let fear control your decision making towards choosing the right person.
Love is a bridge between you and everything because if you mix the two, you won’t be able to identify your true potential in loving yourself and others. I have been cheated on and gone through some pain looking for a true lover. You know how it feels when you’re loyal to someone, and the treatment you are getting is the opposite. With that experience, I learnt some lessons. Now I have reached a point where I’m focusing on building my future and drawing close to God. There is no need to rush for love; take one step at a time because your heart is an ocean’s size, take time to find its hidden depths.
Everyone deserves a relationship with someone who never makes them feel unloved, disrespected, and humiliated. Let go of toxic relationships. If you live in a “what if” mantra, you shall always be in the same place, thinking that things may change, yet you will be dying inside and out, being limited for nothing. The best love is the one that makes you a better person, and encourages you to do more in life. It’s not about how many thousand times a person can tell you how much they love you; NO, it’s about how they can prove that it’s TRUE. Guard your heart jealously and don’t just give it because someone says they “love you”. “Wait for the right person who can love you as you are,” a lesson that I learnt from the late Mr. Myles Munroe. You deserve to love and be loved by someone out there who is consistent for you, who will make you realize your importance in their lives.
Love is a beautiful thing. When you have the right partner, you will experience the goodness of it. There are ups and downs in a relationship, but some battles won’t be worth fighting if they make you feel worthless. Love is something you always need to pray about so that God will give you the one who deserves you. True love always believes, and it gives without boundaries and conditions. True love is when you get someone who thinks you should be smart, ambitious, and opinionated, someone who values expectations or even better, and is equal for you.
“Love gives life to the lifeless. Love lights a flame in the heart that is cold. Love brings hope to the hopeless and gladdens the hearts of the sorrowful. Where there is love, nothing is too much trouble, and there is always time.” Bahai Faith
