Events keep unfolding speedily in my life, sometimes l keep trying to catch up with the time but almost all the time I'm a victim that's why l have to rewind. Just rewinding l see a lot of lessons l learnt even sometimes without noticing, but l thank God for the events and encounters.
2022 has come with a lot of blessings and challenges but one of the beautiful things l have come to learn is that in as much as l have always faced challenges they never last forever. I came to realize for any person to practice purpose a challenge is needed. If there is no challenge there is no purpose. The challenge faced by someone to travel from continent to continent to reach their destination within a few hours is solved by a pilot practising purpose. Even though challenges inflict difficulties, I always welcome them by not panicking but with a ready mind to practise purpose and that has always brought satisfaction. Sometimes it's hard for me to keep up, especially when things go crazy and upside down. l keep praying to God not to be anxious but to recline.
REST is also one of the lessons that l have come to embrace recently. I noticed that sometimes l ended up creating problems that never existed. I remember one time l was running late rushing to go out looking for my phone which was in my hand but if l had waited for a minute to take a breath l would have found my phone earlier. That's what I'm now doing, every time l feel the pressure mounting up, l take a break, stop working and enter into rest.
Also in line with the aspect of work, l remember earlier in my teenage years l got an understanding of grace but year by year l seem to get a deeper and clearer understanding. Specifically, this year, l came to realize most times l missed an encounter with God because of trying too hard. l used to believe that we have to pray hard or fast more. It's not bad to fast or pray in a sense but doing it whilst you are expecting God to answer because of that puts a limitation on the move of God and also missing the aspect of grace. Grace unveils the things that are freely given to us of God.
When it comes to the issue of God speaking l have realized that the speech of God is released through various means. Now I desire to pay attention because l noticed that God is always speaking. Sometimes I find myself looking for a solution which God has already answered before it happened. Even as l study the word l keep seeing instances where God spoke in various ways, through a donkey, writings appearing on a wall and so on. What l can say is God is still speaking, I am learning and perceiving.
The other vital aspect that l came to realize even through interactions with great friends is we should always be able to say no. Not just saying no to people but saying no to anything that might act as a weapon of mass destruction to our purpose and dreams. It's not always about being nice but sometimes if it's of necessity to shout to the weapon of destruction then do so! Jesus shouted at Peter when the devil was using him, shout your way out to Victory by resisting the devil, he will flee and be ready for the next season cause he will come again.
