We must all understand that the journey of life is long and we cannot escape some life challenges. They come in different measures to different people. Some are self-inflicted whereas some are not, you’re not even the cause (you know those kinds of situations when bad things happen to a good person). So the question is not “If they will happen,” it is more of “When they happen, what will be your response and/or reaction to them?” It is important that we have, not just a positive outlook towards life, but that we also look at life situations from the Spectacles of Faith. Being able to know that nothing is strong enough to destroy you. To truly know that all things will work for your good. To believe truly that many situations can try to press you hard but they cannot crush or wipe you out. To be able to have an unwavering trust in the love of God and His care for you. I am convinced that when we are equipped with this information and believe in it we will be eased off the burden that we put on ourselves when we go through some inevitable seemingly unpleasant situations in life. Those burdens or worries actually kill people more than the situations that occurred. No situation is final except we make it so. There is no challenge a man cannot recover from except if he does not want to recover from it. No matter how hard, unpleasant, or terrible an experience was (or will be in the future), you can trust God to help you move past them having picked the lessons and still lead a wonderful life in the fulfillment of Purpose either as if those things never happened or as them being part of your message of Change to others.
Psychologist Martin Seligman found three P’s that can delay recovery after an unforeseen setback or situation and they are as follows; 1. Personalization—the belief that we are at fault. 2. Pervasiveness—the belief that an event will affect all areas of our life. 3. Permanence—the belief that the aftershocks of the event will last forever. These unending condemning thoughts are what Sheryl Sandberg called the Loop in the Head in her book “Option B.” This actually happens to everyone, you start telling yourself how pathetic and terrible you are. You start taking all the faults and declaring how awful your life is and so on. Such things are not necessary because they cause more pain and breakdowns more than the problems that one went through. Well, I summarise all those three P’s to lack of Faith i.e the Unwavering and Unchanging belief in the promises of the Word of God. Jesus said He will never leave you nor forsake you. From Option B, I read that hundreds of studies have shown that children and adults recover more quickly when they realize that hardships aren’t entirely their fault. It doesn’t affect every aspect of their lives, and it won’t follow them everywhere forever. So why not do yourself a lifetime of good by breathing again, leaving all the pain, resentment, anxiety, hate, anger, and so on in the past. These come as a result of some troubles, disappointments, and situations of the past. Leaving them behind and believing in the word of Jesus Christ that says, “Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” is of great importance so why not move on ahead with Faith, Love, Hope, Strength, Trust, Peace, and Joy. There is always a better life ahead...
