Amongst the various species of birds, the eagle is one of the most precious birds. Eagles are known as birds of prey. They have very distinct attributes such as binocular vision, which gives them a visual acuity peculiar to that of other vertebrates. This feature allows eagles to spot their prey from a distance. Eagles also have enormous hooked beakers which are helpful when ripping off skin and flesh of any kind of prey. They are almost at the height of the food chain as alpha predators. A group of eagles is referred to as a convocation. A young one of an eagle is called an Eaglet and before it starts to fly, the eaglet spends most of its time in the eyries which can be seen in most tall trees or on very high mountain cliffs. Eagles are classified into four groups namely, harpy eagles, fish eagles, booted eagles as well as snake eagles. The eagle is one of the fascinating birds that mankind found more relational to daily life, business growth, and life achievements. As one of the most peculiar birds, this article further elucidates the various attributes of an Eagle that are drawn as lessons to mankind. Eagles fly with other eagles or would rather fly alone if the convocation is missing. Not everyone around you has the same intentions and interests as you hence there is a need to go the extra mile and find out if they aren’t naysayers who are very pervasive to your vision. Protect your dreams, not everyone deserves to know the dream. Another crucial element is how female eagles take their time to observe and learn their male suitors in order to attest to their level of commitment. We should be careful with people we bring close to us since they have a reflection of what we are and what we want. Whether it’s a personal relationship or a business, we ought to bring in people that are ready to commit. This is important to ensure there is trust among parties. Eagles are also said to be masters of managing change. Female eagles build the eyries in preparation for laying eggs. After nesting the eaglets and it’s time to learn to fly, the mother eagle removes all the layers that give comfort to the eagle impeding it from flying. Intentionally she will start to throw the eaglet out of the nest until it can flap its wings and fly on its own. The lesson derived here is that we ought to be ready for change by creating an environment that aids it. Also, those who care for us might be pushed to be hard on us because they want the best for us. Complacency takes us back and it’s very unyielding. Growth requires us to step up from our comfort zone and endure some pain but the result is more satisfactory. It is also imperative to note that eagles do not prey on dead animals and neither do they feed on such no matter the circumstances. In the life of mankind, it is encouraged to cultivate your time and efforts on certain things that are fruitful. No matter the pressure do not compromise who you are, your beliefs, standards, and morals. If a project is failing maybe there is more research, knowledge, skills, and expertise required. One has to find out the cause of stiff growth and capitalize on development. Eagles have a superb vision and concentration span. Due to their visual acuity, eagles can spot their prey from a distance and they maintain focus in order not to lose sight of the prey. Always see far beyond your nose. Never lose sight of your set goals. A vision written becomes a goal and obviously, the goal requires planning. This helps in aligning priorities, devising strategies, and maintaining focus. Whatever is written down on paper is stored in the subconscious hence there is always a reflection to it which makes it more of a reminder. Eagles glide in storms, they embrace the challenges storms bring along because they take advantage of such a situation and fly above the clouds and flap their wings hence becoming stronger. One of the lessons which can be drawn from this attribute is that it is crucial to look at challenges with a different approach, not every storm is a hail storm. Look at a challenge with a positive outlook, maybe that is where the best opportunities are enshrined in. We stumble and fall but we shouldn’t be lost forever, in times of difficulty we have to rise stronger, avoid complaining a lot— consider the positive side of it all. Learn to confront your fears.
Eagles hibernate to rebirth by themselves. Instead of succumbing to death, an eagle’s rebirth prolongs its life span. During that time, the eagle knocks out its beak and plucks out its talons so that new ones can grow. This usually happens around the age of 40 and if successful, the life span is increased with 30 more years. Looking at the process, it’s very clear that this is a time of enduring pain and sacrifice. It’s not always a smooth sail to reach the shores; it takes a lot of time, hard work, and sacrifice. To succeed, one should know that there is a need to endure all that comes with it and there should also be a willingness to change. Rebirth means a reassessment of one as an individual and it implies ending toxic relationships, jobs, bad habits, traditions, and routines that are no longer serving their purpose. This period is essential to rediscover yourself, set goals, and also important for self-authentication. In a nutshell, perhaps if we adopt some of the ways an Eagle lives its entire life we could succeed and become better individuals who have so much to offer to our society and the careers we may choose to pursue. All we ought to become is within us but we have to believe in ourselves. The sky is the limit, Fly like an Eagle and always remember, “The world is your oyster.”
