It's not just about showing that strong desire to succeed. It goes past that. It's about the dream, the vision, the long and short-term goals one has. It’s about knowing WHY you are here, your purpose.
One can’t be ambitious and succeed if all that is not there.
I’ll define someone AMBITIOUS as Acceptance (do you accept yourself for you?), Meaningful(are your ambitions making sense?), Brainy (do you use your brain instead of emotions in these?), Idealistic (is it vision-able?), Teachable (do you accept corrections?), Impassionate (does it have a strong push or rather will it affect powerfully in a positive way?), Opportunist (do you grab opportunities when they come your way instead of procrastinating?), Self-confidence (are you confident no matter what comes your way?).
Growing up in a small tourist town, which is now a city of course, in the ghetto hood where no one would expect much from a kid that’s always playing by the rank, in the trees, trenches, and many more ghetto spots you may think of, I never stopped believing in ME.
I accepted that I could not live anyone else’s life and that I had to build mine and serve my purpose in a meaningful and positive way. I had a vision which is what I’m living right now. I believed in being independent at a tender age and so I had to bring it to reality. I didn’t wait for an opportunity, I created my opportunities as I want to set the trend and be a pacesetter.
At the age of 16, I started working on holidays to start saving, which paid a few of my bills hahaha. That's not where my point is, my point is even though I was so ambitious about becoming the leader I had to start by working under a leader. At the age of 17, I started my organization, Beauty Galaxy Organisation where I focus on arts and charity. So far I’ve hosted Miss Leap Year and Victoria Falls Arts Festival. This is all part of the young lady’s ambitions. As beauty galaxy waits for the next leap year in 2024, we are focusing on charity work where we donate to the vulnerable and spread love. We are also looking forward to partnering with brands and models.
People wonder how I got where I am and the answer is simple. I believed in my vision and had the desire to succeed. I was able to accept corrections and still am. I'm so passionate about what I’m working on. I brought out the confident strong opportunist girl in me. The secret to being a successful Ambitious person is being disciplines in all you do and knowing the difference between your ambitions and your fantasies.
Ambitiousness has to do with late nights and early mornings. You will have lots of associates but very few friends. You should expect to be misunderstood. And you might be single unless you get to have someone who understands your kind of life and lastly, of course, people want you to succeed but not more than them.
Today I boldly write this, as a Beauty Galaxy Organisation president, a waitress, allied health student, and Miss Galaxy Australia national finalist, not to show off but to encourage you to find your purpose and believe you can do it all. Mark Twain once said and I quote, “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions because small people always do that but the great ones make you feel that you too, can be great.”
